I found this quote in an article on the MSNBC website. It made me feel good.
"Try to be realistic about keeping within a certain weight range — about 5 pounds above and below your comfort zone — instead of dwelling on a specific number on the scale. Maintaining the exact weight can be difficult day after day. “Ideal” weight is the weight at which you look and feel the best, both physically and emotionally, even if it’s not a perfect number on your scale."

I Heart Pantene Pro-V
Found this at the store the other day, and decided to give it a try. It says on the bottle that it will restore 2 years of damaged hair in just one month if used everyday. I'm on day two and can already see and feel the difference! My hair is shinier and feels so silky smooth.

Happy Birthday You Old Dog
I still think of Alice as a puppy even though she doesn't look it. This last week she turned one year old (16 in dog years). She was Dustin's Valentine's present last year. I was nervous to give him a dog because I wasn't sure if we were ready for that kind of responsibility. Not sure why though. By then we knew we had a baby on the way and come to find out those responsibilities definitely outweigh that of taking care of a dog. Anyways, Dustin had been talking about wanting one and for the life of me I could not get him to consider any breed other than a Great Dane. So, being a newlywed and wanting nothing more than to make my spouse happy, I caved.
The first time I laid eyes on her I had fallen in love. The fact that she would one day grow to be the same size as a human didn't stop us from letting her get into the habit of sleeping on the couch . . .our laps . . .our bed. She was way too cute to say no to.
Did we later regret it? Of course, and trying to re-train her (especially after the baby was born) has been kind of difficult. In her heart she's still our baby girl and just wants to crawl onto daddy's lap when he comes home.
She just doesn't realize how big she really is, and that she's still growing! Still, every once in awhile you have to give in. Just look at her. So precious.
Here's to you Alice! Happy Birthday You Old Dog!

Lovopoly
Last week I was surfing the web trying to find creative gift ideas for the upcoming holiday. Yes it's a big deal. I think gifts given for Valentine's Day should be personal and full of LOVE. Since I LOVE Valentine's Day. I'm a sap for any kind of romance. I came across http://www.lovopoly.com/. I think this is such a cute idea! However I just couldn't bring myself to order a 12 x 12 board game for $80.
And yes, this post is safe because Dustin never looks at our blog. He doesn't think anyone ever reads it, and that I'm wasting my time. I know that I have a few friends out there that care.
So, this is for you. Let me know what you think.
I've kind of been on this kick lately of making everything myself. It's always cheaper that way. So that's what I did. I made my very own Lovopoly game! Well, to be given to Dustin for V-day of course. It turned out awesome. We have/had a Monopoly board game sitting in our cupboard unopened from 2 Christmases ago. I thought I would put it to good use. I'm pretty proud of this one. It took me about a week and half and many hours on the computer, but I think he's going to LOVE it. He better.

The Time Has Come
Kael turned four months old today. I was thinking that he might be ready to start eating rice cereal so I broke it out for lunch. Needless to say he was MORE than ready. This cute little guy kept grabbing my hand and shoving the spoon into his mouth. He's so strong and I was afraid he was going to choke on it. When I would pull away to scoop up more he would start screaming like I had just took the best thing away from him. I'm just glad he took to it as well as he did. One less thing I have to worry about. He's such a good eater!
