Freaky Friday

Dustin took me to eat at Panda Express on Friday. I had been craving their orange chicken for a couple of weeks. I always order their double entree with double orange chicken because I love it so much! (Don't judge). While we were eating our conversation happened to turn to our eating habits. We both mentioned how we need to get back on track with our workouts and eating more healthy. Panda isn't exactly weight loss food, but now that I've got my fill it shouldn't be hard to go back to the "good" foods (atleast until my next craving shows up). Also I usually have more of a desire to hit the workout videos when I'm eating better. Plus it's in the cards! I opened my fortune cookie and what do ya know . . . . . my fortune read:

"WORK ON IMPROVING YOUR EXERCISE ROUTINE"

It's more of a demand that a fortune if you ask me. However Dustin and I had a good laugh. A little Freaky Friday-ish don't ya think?

BOYS and their TOYS

I wish I could say that Kael gets this excited when I walk into the room, but no. It's his mobile that does the trick.

Help a mamma out

Last night I asked Dustin to feed Kael his dinner so I could enjoy a warm meal of my own. I just needed a little break. Come to find out my little break was actually more work for me in the end.
I looked over when I heard both Dustin and Kael laughing to find this:
It was cute to see them having a father/son moment, but . . . . . . .  just how cute depended on how long the clean-up took and if his shirt came out unstained. Thanks babe for helping a mamma out! I do love you, but I think next time I'll just do it myself.

P.s. It was squash that Kael was eating, and he LOVED it. Weird. Either that or he was just super hungry because it didn't smell too appetizing.

Feelin' Good Today

I found this quote in an article on the MSNBC website. It made me feel good.

"Try to be realistic about keeping within a certain weight range — about 5 pounds above and below your comfort zone — instead of dwelling on a specific number on the scale. Maintaining the exact weight can be difficult day after day. “Ideal” weight is the weight at which you look and feel the best, both physically and emotionally, even if it’s not a perfect number on your scale."

I Heart Pantene Pro-V

Found this at the store the other day, and decided to give it a try. It says on the bottle that it will restore 2 years of damaged hair in just one month if used everyday. I'm on day two and can already see and feel the difference! My hair is shinier and feels so silky smooth.
Want healthy hair? I recommend this product :

Happy Birthday You Old Dog

I still think of Alice as a puppy even though she doesn't look it. This last week she turned one year old (16 in dog years). She was Dustin's Valentine's present last year. I was nervous to give him a dog because I wasn't sure if we were ready for that kind of responsibility. Not sure why though. By then we knew we had a baby on the way and come to find out those responsibilities definitely outweigh that of taking care of a dog. Anyways, Dustin had been talking about wanting one and for the life of me I could not get him to consider any breed other than a Great Dane. So, being a newlywed and wanting nothing more than to make my spouse happy, I caved.
The first time I laid eyes on her I had fallen in love. The fact that she would one day grow to be the same size as a human didn't stop us from letting her get into the habit of sleeping on the couch . . .our laps . . .our bed. She was way too cute to say no to.

Did we later regret it? Of course, and trying to re-train her (especially after the baby was born) has been kind of difficult. In her heart she's still our baby girl and just wants to crawl onto daddy's lap when he comes home.

She just doesn't realize how big she really is, and that she's still growing! Still, every once in awhile you have to give in. Just look at her. So precious.

Here's to you Alice! Happy Birthday You Old Dog!
